History
The term angled aroace is similar to oriented aroace (which only indicates aroace with tertiary attraction), and it was created by Tumblr user Black-Aros on March 24, 2019, in response to claims that oriented aroace is only for strictly aromantic asexuals.

The angled aroace flag was posted by Black-Aros on March 24, 2019, shortly after announcing the term. The yellow stripes were chosen as an opposite of the blue of the oriented flag. The light brown gradient beneath them meant as a visually-appropriate parallel to the gray gradient of the aromantic and asexual flags.
The five-stripe redesign was created by an anonymous Wiki user on October 1, 2020. It was designed to mimic the original flag, as to stay true to the symbolism and original meaning, while also making it easier on the eyes. It is also meant to be easier to distinguish between colors.
An alternate flag was created by an unknown user on or before March 11, 2021.
The black, purple, green, and rainbow redesign was created by Instagram user enbysapphics on July 12, 2021. The black represents lack of attraction, the purples represent the asexual spectrum, the greens represent the aromantic spectrum, and the middle rainbow stripe represents attraction towards genders that is separate from one's ace-spec/aro-spec identity.▼
The LGBTA+ Wiki user IAmArtemisTheCat made an alternate flag around July 4, 2022, and uploaded the flag here on July 16th, 2022. It was meant to resembles previously made angled aroace flags, give the stripes meaning (some of the same meanings as the original flag), and to (subjectively) be more aesthetically pleasing. The first yellow stripe stands for orientation and tertiary attraction. The second, lighter yellow stripe stands for being a subset of aroace as a whole, and resembles the yellow stripe on the main aroace flag, similar to how oriented aroace flag has a blue stripe similar to the aroace flag. The off-white stripe represents the aspec community and the unity between them. The light brown represents people in the 'gray area' of the spectrum(s), ones under the grayaro and grayace umbrellas, just like the gray stripe in both the aro and ace flags. The dark brown represents aromantics and asexuals who experience no romantic/sexual attraction, like the black stripe on both the aro and ace flags. The stripe meaning was chosen to show the creator's response to finding out the history of oriented aroace and angled aroace as well as to show her love for her aspec community and the unity their community normally had.
