Anfisian refers to someone who is wlw, wlm, mlm, and mlw, meaning someone who is a woman and a man who is attracted to women and men. Being "a women and a man" includes A) People who are genderfluid, and therefore are sometimes women and sometimes men. B) Bigender or multigender people who are men or man aligned and women/woman aligned at the same time. C) Androgyne aligned non-binary person who feels connected to womenhood and manhood at the same time. An anfisian person is attracted to women and men and/or prioritizes their attraction to women and men over other attractions they may have. Anfisian is an umbrella term, like sapphic and achillean, though it can also be used as an identity by itself.
History
Anfisian was coined by Tumblr user Acro-pluris on May 20, 2018 with a submission to the blog beyond-mogai-pride-flags[1]. They also made the flag in the same post. The color meanings of the flag are as follows: Purple represents being both male and female. Pink represents wlw. Violet and blue represent wlm and mlw. Turquoise represents mlm.
The term is derived from the Greek word "αμφισημία" which means ambivalence.
