Amicussexual is a sexuality on the asexual spectrum. It is a subcategory of demisexuality where one only develops a sexual attraction to people whom they have a platonic relationship with. This is different from the standard definition of demisexuality because demisexual can apply to any sort of bond or long-term interaction. Some demisexual people may start experiencing attraction just by being in someone's presence repeatedly for extended periods, such as a classmate or co-worker. Demisexual people may also form a sexual relationship with someone because they anticipate the attraction coming and they do not mind non-attracted interactions. Amicussexual people can only develop attraction in a platonic or friendship situation.
