    The proxyromantic flag.

Proxyromantic is a form of romantic attraction in which one has a connection with a romantic orientation, or with the concept of romantic orientations, but does not have the will and/or the ability to figure that romantic orientation out for themselves.

Proxyromantic could also be considered a microlabel under the term quoiromantic, the main difference being that one feels as though they have a romantic orientation and understands the concept of romantic attraction, but they don't have the will and/or ability to figure it out.

    The sexual counterpart is proxysexual.

    History

The term was coined by Discord user Luwuna, also known as Deer Garden System, on June 8th, 2021.

    Flag

The proxyromantic flag was created by an anonymous Discord user. The pink, blue, and purple stripes on the flag represent romantic attraction to male, female, and non-binary genders, the grey represents the uncertainty in those attractions, and the green stripes represent possible aromanticism. The stripes on the flag fade slightly to represent varying levels of attraction to those genders.
